MICRODERMABRASION
Microdermabrasion offers benefits to anyone who wants to improve specific skin conditions and rejuvenate the overall health and appearance of their skin: • Rejuvenates sun-damaged skin - face, neck, shoulders, back,
arms and legs For people on the go, a series of three to six exfoliation treatments offers exceptional benefits. Ideal for a special event or as a program for overall skin rejuvenation, this treatment is non-invasive, painless and requires no downtime from work or social activities. Normal activities may be resumed within one day after treatment. Your skin is free of redness, irritation and particle contamination within 24 hours. FACIALS AND DEEP PORE CLENSING Let our professional, licensed dermatology aesthetician recommend the precise skin care treatment for your individual needs. Using a series of medical-grade hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid and salicylic acid, we create the ultimate natural facial treatment for you. All facials at the Miramar Dermatology/Skin and Cancer Associates include a personal skin analysis, deep pore cleaning, relaxing facial massage, nourishing mask and hand massage, serums, moisturizers and recommendations on home-care maintenance treatments. Deep Cleansing Facial The most extensive deep pore cleansing treatment ever designed, the Deep Pore facial cleanses and restores all skin types -- without the risk of irritation. Our aesthetician will design a nourishing treatment specifically for your skin-care needs under the direct supervision of a board-certified dermatologist. From the most demanding to the most fragile complexion, this treatment leaves your skin feeling nourished and looking radiantly beautiful in about 50 minutes. Firming Facial A deep firming and lifting facial for all skin types, the Firming Facial uses a splendid range of scientifically proven agents that give your skin a visible lift and a strengthened complexion. This process includes an exfoliating peel, deep pore cleansing, a replenishing mask, a toning massage, and a re-hydrating moisturizer that will benefit the oval of the face, neck, décolleté, eye and lip. (75 minutes) Many times, facials and deep pore cleansing treatments are combined with microdermabrasion or superficial chemical peels to make your skin as healthy and radiant as possible. CHEMICAL PEELS The chemical peel is a procedure that involves a chemical solution that is applied to the skin to cause a layer of skin to separate and peel off. The new, regenerated skin underneath is usually smoother in texture and more even in color than the old skin. There are various strengths and concentrations of chemical peels, each developed for specific indications such as wrinkles, acne, overall skin texture and skin tone. Some chemical peels are mild and have no down time; these are performed by our medical aesthetician. Others are stronger and have down time for up to one week. The stronger chemical peels are deeper and remove thicker layers of skin, which results in more significant improvement of skin texture and tone. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs. The deeper chemical peels are performed by Drs. Gottlieb and Goldman and their physician assistant Amy Greenberg. Benefits and visible results of chemical peels: • Corrects uneven skin pigmentation Generally, no anesthesia is needed for peels since they cause only a slight stinging sensation during application. Protecting skin from the sun is important following a peel. In a consultation with Dr. Gottlieb, Dr. Goldman, Amy Greenberg, PA-C, or our medical aesthetician, a treatment regimen is designed to identify the strength of the peel based on the condition of your skin and the desired result as well as your available recovery time. BETA LIFTS Indication: Acne, Pigmentation, Improve Complexion Recommended Series: A series of 2 or 3 and the 4-6 month maintenance Downtime: Minimal; 2-5 days of light-to-medium peeling Beta Lift is an innovative formulation of salicylic acid. This technology allows Beta Lift to reach into and affect very fine lines and acne-prone skin. It helps to even out uneven pigmentation and remove the dead, dull cells off the surface. The procedure stimulates a “burst of renewal” within your skin to bring healthy, young, living cells to the surface. This advanced, medical-strength skin renewal treatment is only offered by dermatologists. ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS (Glycolic Acid) Indication: Uneven skin tone and texture, tired looking skin; improves complexion, evens out pigmentation Recommended Series: 2-3 AHA Peels, 4-6 weeks apart; then once every 6-8 months for maintenance Downtime: Mild to high, depending on the strength of the peel Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids, range from the mildest of the peel formulas to higher strengths and produce peels that can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin. The strength of the peel is based on your desired results, the condition of your skin and your available recovery time. A consultation with Dr. Gottlieb, Dr. Goldman, Amy Greenberg, PA-C, or our aesthetician helps define your goals. TRICHLORACETIC ACID (TCA) Indication: Uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation problems, poor skin texture Recommended Series: One peel Downtime: 5 days of intense peeling; plan for 1 full week of down time plus no sun exposure for 3 weeks, and 3 months limited sun exposure This deep peel causes a substantial layer of skin
to separate and peel off. The new, regenerated skin underneath is
usually smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color than the
old skin. The best candidates for TCA peels are patients with wrinkles,
deep pigmentation such as melasma and acne scars. TCA peels yield
a high satisfaction rate and are excellent for patients seeking
a substantial improvement in skin texture and color. Patients should
plan on one full week of recovery and avoid sun exposure for several
months. This peel may have some adverse effects associated with
its deep penetration; therefore, it is always performed by a physician
or a physician assistant. All possible adverse effects are thoroughly
discussed with the patient prior to the procedure.
